Day 10 - Grace To Overcome
14 Days of Prayer and Fasting
Grace to Overcome
Wednesday – Day 10
Thought for Today:
We have received the grace of the Lord Jesus to be victorious in all circumstances. There is nothing that can compare to the power that is available to us as believers. God’s power works in us, through us, and with us. It’s called enablement. We have grace to stand, grace when we fail, grace to build, grace to sustain, and grace to overcome.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” What we are enduring and what we are suffering cannot compare to the glory that we have received through Christ Jesus and what will be revealed to us. We are more than conquerors. I think being a conqueror is pretty great in and of itself. But in Romans 8, Paul makes this incredible statement about who we are in Christ Jesus and what that means for us. It is a declaration of what it means to be overcomers and conquerors through Christ Jesus.
Paul writes and says; “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If the Father gave us Jesus, then there is nothing else He won’t do for us because nothing and no one is greater than Christ. If someone brings a charge against us or condemns us, it won’t stand because God is our Justifier. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, signifying power, and He is interceding for us. How can we lose? What about when life is hard, and sorrow runs deep? We are more than conquerors! What about hardship, persecution, trouble, having nothing, or being destitute? We are more than overcomers!
What about the spiritual realm of angels and demons working against us? We are more than conquerors! What about danger and the threat of death? We are more than conquerors! What about life's challenges and hardships, in the present or the future? What about anything else in creation—heights, depths, or powers—coming against us? We are more than overcomers!
Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God, which is made clear through Jesus! So, pull your shoulders back, lift your head, and look up; your redemption is getting closer. Focus on your champion — He has done all the work. He gave you your worth, your salvation, your justification, your consecration, and the power to overcome. You don’t have to grovel. He is your Father. You don’t have to fear; He is your Protector.
You don’t have to hide until He returns. You can let your light shine in the darkness and allow His love to ground you in His goodness. Let Him surround you with His faithfulness and understand that you have received grace to triumph. He has made you more than a conqueror; now live as one!
Verses to Pray and Meditate on:
For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:9-11 (NLT)
And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety. We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God-given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.
2 Corinthians 1:11-12 (NLT)
But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Romans 16:19-20 (NLT)
